Nick Mack’s “RANTINS” ep.3 | 11/17/2010

It is crucial to teach children to take responsibility for their actions and deal with the tough stuff in life. Most politicians in the UK are full-blown adults, yet instead of hearing their humble apologies for what they’ve done wrong, or their admissions of fault, or even their coherent plans of how things will be fixed, I hear childish bleats and whimpers. They insist that they are not as bad as the other guys, suggesting that we should be happy that we have the lesser of two evils running the country.
The “other guy” is not the issue here. I did not vote for the other guy, in fact I voted for those in power – or, in the case of the current UK government, the Liberal Democrat half of those in power – because the other guy had dropped the ball and the new guys seemed to know better. Waltzing in and then, when the going gets tough, proceeding to buckle and blame those who had left the mess that these newbies had vowed to clean does not equate to knowing better.
If a person can accept their lot and battle on through it, determined to reach a better situation, then they have achieved a level of maturity that is to be admired and emulated. If they ignore the difficult questions and their responsibilities, and instead blame the other party, then they need to grow up. Politicians of the world take note.
